I know, it has been released some time ago, but I just found the rendered video of the Sony Bravia ad made by Crytek. I built their website some time ago and stumbled upon it because they offer two interesting jobs for someone like me at the moment.

I really liked the idea when I first saw the original, although I first thought they rendered it too, until saw the making of. And now I also like to see the 3ds Max standard teapot jumping through San Francisco (maybe you have to be geek, but I think it’s funny). So, if you didn’t know it yet, just have a look!

A direct comparison for the the impatient ones.

Many people came to my blog yesterday, searching for Firefoxlii.de. Thus, I decided to dig a little deeper because I am not the only one interested obviously. I searched for more strange landing pages, trying to earn money with Firefox downloads and the large amount of such websites just hit me. Simple example: just type “Mozilla Firefox” into Google. …I own a Mac. When I read the news these days, I’m really frightened about the prefessional tools out there which enable every n00b to expose or even rob clueless PC users. I think the trojan horse of the German Government may be similar to this one. Now I really wonder whether this trojan will also be available for OSX and Linux as well. If not, I guess the number of users of these very OS will rise immedeately :-)

I just a google ad for the version 2.1 of Mozilla Firefox which made me curious because the version 3 has not even been officially released yet. The click on the ad brought me to www.Firefoxlii.de where some features are described and a litte comparison to IE is given (in German). Then I clicked on the “download link” (by webmasterplan), and came to the eBay download page for FF. Of course, I neither found the advertised version 3.1 of FF, nor the google pack, but just the version 1.5 with eBay extension.

Owner of the jump website is a comapny called “Marketing Innovation Ltd.” from Great Britain and the email address is a spam blocker from Bluebottle.

Let’s sum this up for better understanding: somebody pays for google ads to generate traffic to his own website. There he earns money with the download of a FREE external product. Strange world!

You may now download the new version 1.2 from the official websie. I think it’s a pity that the download now consists of two seperate files, as the compression rate de- and and the loading time increases.

Unfortunately all the other pages are offline at the moment: the demos, docs, forum and blog. The ticket page has been added, but is currently offline as well. Half-cocked snapshot I’d say, especially because the docs are actually there, well…

Let’s hope the problems will be solved during the day and maybe they’ll think about an official offline versionof the docs to prevent such a blackout.

I will definitely work on eSteak to be able to handle scripts for the new version and I will try to integrate the packed download as well when I’m working on it anyway.

I’ve been wondering about the heavy traffic on www.hausgeburt-owl.de for some time now. Now I know the source: a bunch of spam robots tries to flood the guestbook! The IPs are 77.92.88.4, 77.92.88.5 and 77.92.88.6 and I successfully blocked them via the server firewall. Sadly the same robots are still attacking over different machines and even different networks. The russian company which is responsible for this (see the links on the IPs) is called “LIMT Group Ltd” and seems to be well known in that business, the google results said.

Now I am really wondering why such people are still allowed to own and run such huge spamming farms…
